Micro Gallery Note
Pocket-scale velvet hearts with an inky ground and crisp, chalk-bright veins. Even at this size, Dark Form reads composed and architectural—perfect for shelves, studio desks, or a calm bedside vignette.
Profile Snapshot
- Botanical: Anthurium crystallinum (Dark Form selection)
- Stature: compact rosette; short, sturdy petioles keep plates poised
- Surface & tone: plush matte lamina; near-black/forest base with luminous tracer lines
- Current height: ~15–28 cm (6–11 in), widening with consistent routines
- Pet guidance: stage beyond curious nibblers
Light Map
Soft, tempered brightness is ideal—north light, bright shade, or morning rays behind a sheer. Keep harsh noon beams off the velvet to preserve texture and keep vein contrast razor-sharp.
Water Rhythm
Rehydrate when the upper layer of substrate just dries back; pour through and let runoff exit completely (no standing water). Allow gentle dry-back between waterings to keep the crown comfortable.
Root Zone & Medium
Use an oxygen-rich, open blend: orchid bark + pumice/perlite + coco chips with a light sphagnum accent. Seat the crown slightly high; a snug container maintains a neat, upright posture.
Climate & Air
Comfort band: 20–27 °C (68–81 °F) with room moisture around 55–70% RH. Mild airflow helps plates cure firm and edges stay crisp.
Nutrition & Upkeep
Feed lightly (¼–½ strength) during active months; ease off when growth slows. Quarter-turn the planter every couple of weeks for even presentation. Dust leaves gently so the bright linework stays luminous.
Placement Ideas
Pair with stone or matte planters to echo the velvet finish. For contrast, cluster alongside glossy aroids—material play (matte vs shine) looks curated and intentional.
