Form Study: Round Profile
This selection leans perfectly circular—plush, disk-like leaves finished in a cool silver veil with a faint rosy cast. Clean vein lines radiate across the surface, giving a precise, modern read even from a distance.
Scale & Stance
- Botanical: Anthurium ‘Dorayaki’ (Silver Blush, round-form selection)
- Architecture: poised rosette; plates carried on steady, evenly spaced petioles
- Surface & tone: velvet-matte lamina, luminous silver overlay, subtle blush; crisp linework
- Indoor reach: commonly ~35–60 cm (14–24 in) with consistent routines
- Pet guidance: display out of nibbling range
Light Plan
Place where light is bright but filtered—north-facing daylight, a sheer-curtained window, or gentle east exposure. Intense noon sun can mute the silver and roughen the velvet.
Hydration & Medium
- Water when the top 1–1.5 cm (~½ in) of mix feels dry; saturate and let excess run off completely.
- Substrate: oxygen-forward blend—orchid bark + coarse perlite/pumice + coco chips, with a light sphagnum accent.
- Seat the crown slightly high to discourage moisture pooling at the base.
Climate & Air
Target 20–27 °C (68–81 °F) and comfortable room humidity around 55–70%. Soft air movement helps plates cure flat and keeps edges neat.
Feeding & Care Loop
Feed a balanced formula at ¼–½ strength during active growth; scale back as growth slows. Quarter-turn the pot every couple of weeks for uniform presentation. Dust leaves lightly so the silver veil and veinwork stay luminous.
Placement Cues
Round Form reads best at eye level—try a low console or pedestal. Matte or stone planters echo the velvet texture; pair with glossy aroids to play up material contrast.
Set-In Sequence
Start under diffused light and step brightness up across 10–14 days. New flushes typically display the cleanest circle geometry and the sharpest silver.
