Pocket Edition
Disk-like velvet leaves with a cool silver veil and a whisper of blush. In the small format, ‘Silver Blush’ reads refined and tidy—perfect for shelves, worktops, and slim consoles.
Scale & Profile
- Botanical: Anthurium ‘Dorayaki’ (Silver Blush)
- Stature: compact rosette; round plates on short, steady petioles
- Surface & tone: velvet-matte lamina; luminous silver overlay; crisp vein lines
- Current height: ~15–28 cm (6–11 in), widening with consistent care
- Pet note: display out of nibbling reach
Light Guide
Prefers softened brightness—north light, bright shade, or morning rays behind a sheer. Keep hard midday sun off the velvet so the silver stays clean and edges remain tidy.
Water & Medium
- Hydration: water when the top layer just dries back; soak thoroughly and drain completely—no standing water.
- Substrate: open, oxygen-forward blend (orchid bark + coarse perlite/pumice + coco chips; light sphagnum accent).
- Crown sits slightly high in the mix to discourage basal moisture.
Climate & Air
Comfort band 20–27 °C (68–81 °F) with room humidity around 55–70%. Gentle airflow helps plates cure flat and reduces spotting on pale sectors.
Feeding & Upkeep
Feed a balanced formula at ¼–½ strength during active months; taper as growth slows. Quarter-turn the pot every couple of weeks for uniform presentation. Dust with a soft, dry cloth so the silver veil and veinwork stay luminous.
Placement Ideas
Looks best at near-eye level on a low stand or console. Matte or stone planters echo the velvet surface; pair with glossy aroids for a curated material contrast.
