Atrium Statement
Broad, paddle-like leaves with crocodile relief carry cream-to-mint marbling over deep jade. In the large format, this bird’s-nest anthurium reads architectural—commanding height, stout petioles, and a composed crown that anchors a room.

Scale & Build

  • Botanical: Anthurium hookeri (variegated form)
  • Form: upright rosette; thick petioles; generous leaf span
  • Surface & tone: heavy bullation (pebbled relief); satin–matte finish; pale variegation on a dark ground
  • Interior reach (large): typically ~60–90 cm (24–35 in) with steady routines
  • Pet guidance: display beyond curious nibblers

Light Plan
Place in bright, diffused daylight—north light, bright shade, or behind a sheer. Strong noon beams can scuff the bullate surface and wash pale sectors.

Water & Root Zone

  • Hydration rhythm: water once the surface layer dries back; drench thoroughly and let excess drain—no standing water.
  • Substrate: open, fast-draining matrix (orchid bark + coarse perlite/pumice + coco chips; light sphagnum accent).
  • Crown: keep slightly proud of the mix to discourage basal moisture.

Climate & Air
Target 20–29 °C (68–85 °F) with room humidity around 55–70%. Gentle airflow helps plates cure firm and keeps edges tidy, especially on variegated patches.

Nutrition & Upkeep
Feed a balanced formula at ¼–½ strength during active growth; taper as days cool. Rotate the planter every few weeks for uniform presentation. Wipe leaves occasionally so the cream/mint patterning reads crisp.

Styling Notes
Let side-light graze the texture on a pedestal or low console. Matte or stone planters echo the rugged surface; pairing with fine-leaf aroids creates a curated contrast (bold vs. delicate).

Set-In Sequence
Start under cushioned brightness and step light up over 10–14 days. New flushes typically show the deepest relief and the most defined marbling.
